Low winds and frustrating conditions provided a different kind of challenge to the eight crews. Ericsson 4 is dominating the race having won both legs so far, but Telefonica Blue and the American boat Puma are both trying to catch up, and Green Dragons remains in sixth place.
Crews need to complete the 1,950 nautical miles of the third leg and arrive in Singapore by Tuesday. Calm winds assured that crews will arrive late, and they also need to conserve their food because they might be out on the water longer than originally anticipated. But Tony Mutter of the Ericsson 4 crew is still upbeat about the situation.
