In Southwest China's Guizhou Province, people of the Gelao ethnic group gathered in a village in the early morning. The village leader announced the beginning of a sacrificial ceremony. Texts were recited and villagers played special music. The leader also made a pilgrimage to a sacred stone, which symbolizes the ancestry of the Gelao people.

In Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, tens of thousands of Zhuang ethnic people gathered at the Ganzhuang Mountain to commemorate their ancestor, Buluotuo. Unlike other nationalities, the Zhuang people worship their ancestor by singing.

And in the Northeastern province Liaoning, Manchurian performers re-enacted the grandeur of imperial ceremonies with festive dances.
