Chinas temporary bans in line with WTO rules

China has started temporary bans on the imports of pigs and pork products from some regions hit by the A-strain influenza. The Foreign Ministry says these measures are in line with WTO rules.

WTO rules allow for strict quarantine measures in emergencies.


As more A/H1-N1 infections are reported around the world, China has decided to temporarily ban pig and pork imports from some affected regions.
