MADRID, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Atletico Madrid have released Maniche from the last two months of his contract for rules breaking, the Primera Liga club said on Tuesday.
The Portugal midfielder, who has had a number of run-ins with Atletico, was dropped from the side last week as a punishment for breaking club rules.
The 31-year-old won the UEFA Cup and Champions League with Porto before joining the Spanish team from Dynamo Moscow in 2006 on a three-year contract.
