The Copenhagen Fashion Fair is feeling the effect of the global financial crisis, with less shows and fewer people in the audience. But one expert said it could be turned into something positive with creativity and innovation as the solution.

The organizers of the event say the shows are offering an "historical flashback" showcasing "trends that define our present situation - a world in crisis". The themes are, "Dandy Manifesto", "Gold Diggers", "Bewitchment" and "Techno-Folk".

Although less labels are attending the fair compared to previous years, most say their sales have seen an increase rather than a downturn.
