Monday marks the Lantern Festival, which falls on the fifteenth day of the lunar calendar's first month. The occasion is traditionally regarded as the conclusion of the Spring Festival season.

In the city of Kaifeng, in central China's Henan province, folk artists are playing their part in the Lantern Festival.A maker of traditional lanterns, Zhang Jinhan, recently revived a thousand-year-old tradition by creating a series of lanterns depicted in the Song Dynasty literature of the 11th century. His display has attracted many visitors, both local residents and tourists.
