Portsmouth manager Adams sacked

LONDON, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- English Premier League side Portsmouth's manager Tony Adams has been sacked after a series of poor results, the club said in a statement on Monday

The statement said that director of youth operations Paul Hart has been appointed caretaker coach.

The 42-year-old Adams, a former England captain, took over the south England's club just over three months, replacing Harry Redknapp.

Portsmouth collected only two points from their last nine league matches and is 16th in the standings, one point above the relegation zone.
