Taiwan is planning to allocate 330 billion New Taiwan dollars, or almost ten billion US dollars, to create more job opportunities. A total of 330-thousand jobs are expected to be created by the plan.
Local authorities say they will team up with 1000 companies to offer 35,000 intern positions to college students who graduated from 2006 to 2008. The initial monthly salary for interns will be 660 US dollars.
Taiwan education authorities will also start a campaign to offer special training program for new graduates. College students who join the training courses after graduation will be entitled to an annual tuition fee subsidy of up to around one thousand 500 US dollars.
