Performing to "The Yangtze River" Piano Concerto, the two Zhangs completed a throw triple Salchow, a big triple twist, a throw triple loop and spectacular lifts with Zhang Hao effortlessly lifting his partner with one hand. The reigning World silver medalists earned a level four for their spins, the lifts and the forward inside death spiral. They scored 115.1 for a 182.22 total with a smooth free skate routine. Tatiana Volosozhar and Stanislav Morozov of Ukraine took the silver medal. They delivered a dynamic performance to "Pearl Harbour" and won their first medal on the ISU Grand prix of Figure Skating.

Another Chinese pair Pang Qing and Tong Jian, the 2006 world champions, grabbed the bronze medal. They opened the program set to Tango and Concerto de Aranjuez with a double Axel-double Axel sequence, but he singled the second Axel. They also got a level four for their pair spin and the death spiral. The Grand Prix continues today with the Free Dance, Men's and Ladies Free Skating.
