HK discusses economic opportunities and challenges

Economic opportunities and challenges have dominated a meeting of the Hong Kong Commission on Strategic Development.

SAR Chief Executive Donald Tsang chaired the meeting. Participants discussed a key report signaling a significant economic slowdown in the coming year, as financial turmoil continues to spread.

The report calls for the region to reinforce its role as global financial center by pinpointing new opportunities for growth. One option is for Hong Kong to strengthen cooperation with the Pearl River Delta region as well as the larger Asia Pacific region.
