"Beast Stalker" to open

Cops and robbers films, are a popular genre in Hong Kong cinema. The latest offering in the class is "Beast Stalker". The film opens in Chinese theaters November, 20th. The tale revolves around the fate of four characters whose lives become entangled because of a traffic accident. The four roles are considered breakthrough parts for the four lead actors: Nicholas Tse, Zhang Jingchu, Nicky Cheung and Miao Pu.

Tse plays a policeman eager to handle cases on his own and in his own independent way. Tse plays opposite a child actor for the first time. He's called upon portray deep inner feelings. Zhang Jingchu plays a police officer -- the epitome of a cool headed, strong woman -- inwardly rent over the loss of her daughter. Nicky Cheung, a fixture in comedies as a self-righteous figure or in gangster movies, is cast in the role of a cold hearted criminal. Miao Pu challenges herself playing a woman who has been paralyzed. The film presents sterling performances by the four actors from Hong Kong and the Chinese mainland.
