Chinese top legislator arrives in Ethiopia on 3rd leg of Africa tour

China's top legislator Wu Bangguo has arrived in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, for an official visit. He said he hopes the visit will boost ties between the two countries.

Top legislator Wu Bangguo arrived in Addis Ababa on Saturday afternoon, after visiting Algeria and Gabon.



In a written statement released upon his arrival, Wu Bangguo highlighted the rapid growth of Sino-Ethiopian relations in the 38 years since the two countries forged diplomatic relations. He noted that bilateral cooperation has yielded remarkable results in fields such as economy and trade, public health, tourism, and culture.



The chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress said the two sides are currently enjoying their best relations ever.
