Bird flu patient recovers in Guizhou

A man being treated for the bird flu at a hospital in China's southwestern province of Guizhou is well on his way to recovery.

successfullytreated.

The case of human H5N1 infection was discovered in late January, and after 18 days' treatment the hospital says he is out of danger and is expected to fully recover.

Among the eight human bird flu cases reported this year in China, this is the first adult patient to be successfully treated.
