China confident of 8% growth target

Vice minister of the National Development and Reform Commission, Liu Tienan said China is confident of achieving its 8-percent gross domestic product growth target for 2009.



Liu says the Chinese financial system remains strong and the economy's fundamentals are unchanged. This and government stimulus measures should enable it to achieve stable growth. And quick development has facilitated industrialization and urbanization, trends that provide huge consumption potential.
