The Chinese Mission to the EU has played host to an open house in Brussels as it celebrates the Year of the Ox.

The event was called "Getting Closer to China" with more than 1,500 locals and diplomats. Aside from msuic and dance, the open house also saw a photo exhibition showcasing Sino-EU ties, as well as 30 years of China's reform and opening-up.
The Chinese envoy Song Zhe, says the event helped show Europe the country's true and friendly face. He wants it to help the younger generation better understand China, so as to strengthen Sino-EU ties.
