Telefonica Blue won leg four of the Volvo Ocean Race on Thursday. They crossed the finishing line at 3:00 pm local time in the Chinese city of Qingdao.
Telefonica Blue finished the gruelling voyage from Singapore in 11 days, two hours and 26 seconds. The crew were greeted by a crowd of thousands of local fans and dozens of traditional drummers.
Skipper Bouwe Bekking was crowned. Puma took second place in leg four. The yacht of American Ken Read's team suffered a broken boom last Saturday. Ericsson 4 finished the leg in third place. Irish/Chinese entry Green Dragon are still racing. They're expected to finish the leg on Saturday.
