The European Union foreign policy and security chief, Javier Solana, spoke with CCTV in Brussels on Friday and praised the strategic ties between the EU and China.

Solana said he is looking forward to meeting with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, who is scheduled to visit the European Union from January 29th to 30th. Solana also said he believes EU-China relations will be strengthened in 2009.
