Nearly 13,000 boxes of fireworks have been confiscated by Shanghai police and half of those have been destroyed because of poor quality. This year's firecracker market is still hot, with a variety of choices and low prices.
Authorities are warning citizens to stay alert and follow safety rules ahead of the firework season.
