The ten-year-old boy delighted spectators, and surprised fellow competitors when judges named him winner.

Bagdat Muptekizy, head of Hunting Delegation, said, "Today we have seen something unique, a ten-year-old boy from Pavlodar, he has won first prize."

The boy's golden eagle brought down prey - rabbits and foxes - with speed, ferocity and style, earning his handler top prize.
