CCTV's Spring Festival Gala is probably the most anticipated program of the year. It wrapped up a couple of hours ago broadcast to hundreds of millions of people in China and around the world.

The Gala has been a 'must-watch' for the Chinese every year for the last 26 years and last night was the first time all the songs were performed live. Many paid tribute to the major events of the year just passed notably, the Sichuan earthquake, the Beijing Olympics and the Shenzhou-7 space mission.
