Ancient capital restores city wall

Among the ancient imperial capitals in China's history, the city of Xi'an is one of the few to retain its city walls. And Xian is launching a restoration project for a section of the walls.

According to the local cultural heritage authorities, the restoration will cover the section that dates back to the 1370s in the early Ming Dynasty. Measuring some 200 meters, the section used to be part of the walls encircling the mansion of Prince Qin, the second son of the reigning emperor.

The restoration is expected to take about a year.
