Premier Wen Jiabao has visited the Zhongguanchun Science Park in the Haidian district. The park is China's leading science base, housing more than 20-thousand hi-tech enterprises.
Wen Jiabao visited several companies and spoke to both scientists and technicians. He said China's confidence in dealing with recent troubles in the financial world is largely due to human talent, as well as advances in science.
Premier Wen urged further development of companies into strong bases of innovation and training with a greater focus on making hi-tech and market-oriented products to boost competitiveness and economic growth. Wen Jiabao also promised government support for efforts in these areas.
