Chinas foreign debt rises to 442 billion US dollars

China's foreign debt grew at a slower pace in the third quarter.

The country's foreign exchange regulator says foreign debt reached 442 billion US dollars by the end of September -- up 18 percent from the same period last year.

China's foreign debt rose 8.9 percent in the second quarter and 5.1 percent in the first quarter.
