Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says the country is ready to face any challenge.
At a gathering to honor a freedom fighter in New Delhi on Saturday, Singh said that India knows how to rise to a challenge. He said anyone who wishes to weaken India's unity and hurt the nation should remember that India has endured problems and emerges stronger.
The remarks come after India blamed Islamic militants based in Pakistan for last month's terror attacks in Mumbai, which killed 179 people.
