110,000 people affected by Friday's earthquakes in Yunnan Province have been transferred from the disaster area. Relief efforts in the area continue.

The first batch of relief material has been distributed. Basic power, telephone and transport links have been restored and schools have reopened. Ruili city, on the border with Myanmar, was hit by two quakes measuring 4.9 and 4 on the Richter Scale, early Friday morning.
