Lawmakers said the draft law closely follows the situation in the country's rural areas, and will help people solve disputes immediately and effectively.
Many members said the just and fair practice of the arbitration process, as well as the selection of the arbitration court personnel, are very important.
Pei Huailiang, NPC Standing Committee Member, said, "The key to effectively implementing the law is to improve the quality of the arbitrators and the arbitration committee. The draft mentions some principal rules, but I don't think it's enough."
